Opportunity Overview:

The Video Editor is responsible for editing video content into a finished product in both long and short form while also assisting in production activities for an MSO-based community network with a large focus on high school and college sports.

Where you will work:

The Video Editor will work in the Astound TV Network studio in Bath, PA, with the ability to travel up to 20% into the field as needed.

A Day in the Life of the Video Editor:

  • Edit raw footage into polished, engaging programs for television and digital platforms, including commercials, promotional materials, or other broadcast-related products for both internal and external customers
  • Collaborate with producers and directors to meet creative and editorial goals
  • Deliver end-products within the specified timeline
  • Organize and archive video assets for easy retrieval and future use
  • Ensure all content meets broadcasting standards and compliance regulations
  • Maintain and troubleshoot editing workstations and software as needed
  • Assist in live or studio productions and field shoots as needed, including driving; setup, operation, and breakdown of equipment; and general production tasks
  • Participate in special projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Our Astounding candidate will possess:

Skills & Abilities:

  • Knowledge of broadcast operations and video editing software
  • Knowledge of equipment operations such as cameras, lighting, and audio
  • Highly detailed with strong organizational and time management skills
  • Strong sense of storytelling, pacing, and visual composition
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Office
  • Computer networking as it relates to broadcasting
  • Valid driver's license

Required Education and/or Certificates/Credentials:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Media Communications, Broadcasting, or related field preferred

Experience:

  • 3+ years of television production
  • Proficiency in linear and non-linear editing software and systems such as Avid, Adobe Premiere, or similar editing systems

The base salary range in Pennsylvania for this position is $40,000 - $65,000 per year, plus opportunities for bonus, benefits and commission, if applicable. The base pay range represents the low and high end of the hiring range for this job. Actual pay will vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to relevant skills, experience, and capabilities. It is specific to Pennsylvania and may not be applicable to other locations.
