VCA Pacific Animal Hospital is seeking a full-time Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our expanding team!
Compensation: $ 26 - $ 30 / hour.
*determined by skill set, education, certifications, and years of experience in the field. Financial growth opportunities available.
Schedule: Full-time opportunity, afternoons and Saturday schedule. We utilize a 4x10 schedule, and schedule is flexible.

We are a AAHA accredited full-service facility offering Preventative/Routine care, Surgery and Dental procedures, Urgent Care, and Hospitalization. This is not your typical preventative care visit.

Overall Responsibility: Our LVTs provide compassionate veterinary care to our patients. We are passionate about supporting Veterinary Technicians and are committed to your continuing education and personal career development. We provide a progressive learning environment to guide your career path, and encourage technicians to utilize their technical skills to broaden their abilities.
The skills that you will be utilizing include, but are not limited to:
Collect patient histories and review referral medical records for pertinent information
Perform physical exams and report results to doctor
Place and maintain intravenous catheters
Working knowledge of radiation safety
Perform radiographs and other diagnostic imaging as ordered
Obtain laboratory samples via venipuncture, cystocentesis, and fecal collection
Perform in-hospital laboratory diagnostics including fecals, urinalysis, differentials, and cytologies
Process lab samples utilizing in-hospital laboratory equipment
Ability to calculate drug dosages accurately
Manage client invoices (PVL) and charge for urgent care services appropriately
Maintain accurate and complete medical records
Maintain a clean work environment to include following any infectious disease protocols, handle medical/biomedical, and infectious waste appropriately
Tacoma sits in a beautiful part of Western Washington where access to everything is within easy reach. Just a short drive to all manner of outdoor activities while also being close to an unending variety of nightlife, culture, and entertainment. Surrounding communities include Seattle, Fort Lewis Military Base and Puget Sound.
