Responsibilities

Pediatrix is offering a unique opportunity for a BC/BE pediatrician to join a flourishing practice at the brand new, state-of-the-art Wynn Hospital in Utica, NY.

 

• With approximately 1,400 deliveries a year, the pediatric hospitalists provides coverage for the newborn nursery.
• 8-bed pediatric unit coverage and emergency department consultations
• Medical students and family medicine residents education.
• No delivery attendance or NICU coverage.
• Great work-life balance with week-on / week-off schedule. Call from home.
• Pediatric service is supported by pediatric-trained speech, occupational, and physical therapists, pediatric-certified echo techs, and lactation consultants.
• Neonatology consultations available in house with other pediatric sub-specialties available for consults at tertiary center in nearby city.
• Full or part-time positions available

 

 

About the Area

 

Utica is a mid-sized city in upstate New York, located in the Mohawk Valley and on the southern edge of the Adirondack Mountains. The area offers excellent public and private schools, ample housing options, and a cost of living that is 20% less than the national average. Utica itself is a diverse scenic city that offers the pleasures of both an urban and rural setting. There are a variety of big-city amenities available from eclectic restaurants to quaint festivals. Utica hosts the famous Boilermaker 15k road race and is home to the Utica Comets, the professional ice hockey team. Utica is an easy driving distance to two large cities, Syracuse and Albany, both with international airports. Outdoor activities abound in the area with plentiful lakes, rivers, trails, and mountains. The region is known for its ski resorts. Utica is surrounded by multiple colleges, including Hamilton College and Colgate University.

 

Qualifications

• Board certified/board eligible in pediatrics.

Our clinicians enjoy a competitive compensation package with many locations offering sign on bonuses and relocation.

 

Compensation Range: $180,000 to $215,000 based on years of experience with bonus potential. *Part time salary pro-rated from full time.
