Job Description
Job Summary:
The Receiver/Inventory Clerk is responsible for receiving, inspecting, and recording incoming shipments, and maintaining accurate inventory records. This position ensures that all goods are received in good condition, matched with purchase orders, and correctly stored or forwarded to the appropriate department.
Key Responsibilities:
Receive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy and damage.
Compare packing slips/invoices with purchase orders and report discrepancies.
Log all received goods into inventory management system.
Tag, label, or barcode items as necessary.
Ensure all incoming inventory is properly stored or distributed to appropriate locations.
Assist in conducting regular inventory counts and cycle counts.
Report any inventory variances or damaged goods to management.
Maintain clean and organized receiving and inventory areas.
Work with other departments (e.g., Purchasing, Sales, Production) to ensure proper flow of materials.
Operate forklifts or pallet jacks safely (if certified).
Follow company policies and safety procedures at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED required.
Previous experience in receiving, inventory control, or warehouse work preferred.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Basic computer skills; familiarity with inventory software is a plus.
Ability to lift/move heavy objects (up to 50 lbs).
Good organizational and time management skills.
Forklift certification a plus (or willingness to become certified).
