Be the Heart of Our New Café – Make Your Mark at Perkiomen Perkiomen School is excited to launch a brand-new campus café this fall, and we’re looking for a passionate, talented, and creative Café Chef to lead the way. This is a unique opportunity to build something from the ground up—shaping the menu, setting the tone, and becoming a key part of campus life. With a brand-new, open-concept kitchen that connects directly with the serving area, you’ll interact with students, faculty, and staff while preparing delicious, high-quality meals. What You’ll Do: Lead the day-to-day culinary operations of the café, ensuring meals are fresh, nutritious, and beautifully presented Design and update seasonal, diverse menus that include options for various dietary preferences (vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, etc.) Prepare a mix of hot meals, light fare, and grab-and-go options that fit the busy lives of students and faculty Maintain top-notch kitchen cleanliness, food safety, and sanitation standards Manage inventory, place orders, and monitor costs to ensure efficiency and sustainability Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely, in accordance with OSHA standards Stay current with culinary trends and student preferences to keep offerings fresh and exciting Foster a positive, inclusive, and welcoming environment for everyone who walks through the café doors Support special events with occasional evening or weekend hours as needed What You Bring: Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience 2+ years of experience in a kitchen leadership role Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation (ServSafe certification preferred) Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills Ability to work independently and lead a small team Familiarity with operating a wide range of kitchen tools and appliances High energy, creativity, and a genuine passion for food and community Experience in a high-volume or institutional foodservice setting is a plus Work Environment & Perks: A supportive campus community and a beautiful school setting Competitive pay ($18–$24/hour based on experience) Full-time employment with benefits Make a meaningful impact on daily campus life How to Apply: If you’re ready to help launch something special, we want to hear from you.
