Animal Control Officer | $14–$18/hour DOE | Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm

Job Description

The role involves investigating complaints, managing stray or dangerous animals, and maintaining animal holding areas.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the city and respond to animal nuisances, complaints, and code violations
• Investigate reports of animal abuse, bites, and potential rabies cases
• Trap, transport, quarantine, and euthanize animals as required
• Educate the public about animal care ordinances and responsible pet ownership
• Maintain clean and sanitary conditions in holding facilities and vehicles

Qualifications and Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Two (2) years of experience handling animals or in a related field
• Must complete Animal Control Officer Basic Training within six (6) months of hire
• Valid Texas Class C driver’s license
• Must obtain a Certified Euthanasia Technician license within six (6) months of hire

The base pay range for this position is $14–$18, excluding benefits, bonuses, or other compensation. Your final compensation will depend on your skills, qualifications, experience, location, and internal pay equity. Please note, hiring at the top of the range is uncommon to allow room for future growth.
