Job Summary: The Accounting Assistant II maintains accurate financial records. Provides accounting and bookkeeping support. Assists University staff in understanding industry standards, current laws, and university policy as it relates to the financial affairs of the University. Provides guidance and trains entry-level Accounting Assistants.
Additional Department Summary: Reviews reconciled P-Card packets to ensure compliance with applicable laws as well as University policies.
Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED and two (2) years of accounting or bookkeeping experience; OR associate's degree or higher.
Skills and Knowledge: Ability to work effectively in a team environment. Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal. Ability to make decisions based on careful analysis and thoughtful judgments. Computer skills (spread sheet applications, personal computing networks, internet software, etc.). Ability to work effectively under stress and high levels of activity.
Preferred Qualifications: Accounts Payable, auditing, or purchasing experience. Concur Travel & Expense experience.
